Privacy & Terms

The short version

You control what we keep. To run and improve ElastoType, we store the text you send, the prompt we build around it, and the AI's reply — you can view and delete all of it in the app (Settings → Your Data), or switch storage off. We never sell your data. To produce a result, your text is sent to a third-party AI provider that generates it.

What we store

Your content. When storing is on (the default), we store the text you send, the prompt we assemble around it, and the AI's reply — to operate and improve ElastoType. You can review and delete everything in Settings → Your Data, or stop saving entirely with the Store my content toggle. For screen reading, we store the AI's text description of your screen — never the screenshot itself.

Request metadata. For each request we log non-content details — the time, the app you used it in, the AI model, token counts, latency, and whether it succeeded — to keep the service reliable and debug problems. We never log your keystrokes.

Subscription & license. We store a device identifier to verify your plan. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy — we never see or store your card details.

How your text is processed

• AI provider — to generate a result, your text (and, for screen reading, your screen image) is sent to a third-party AI provider. If you bring your own API key, it is sent to the provider you configured, under your own account. Your content is never used to train or fine-tune AI models — we use it only to operate and debug ElastoType.
• Lemon Squeezy — handles payment processing and subscription management. Subject to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

Your choices

• Store my content — turn it off and nothing you send or receive is saved on our servers.
• View & delete — Settings → Your Data shows everything stored for your device. Delete any item, or all of it, anytime — deletions take effect immediately.
• Email us — you can also request access or deletion at support@elastotype.app.

Accessibility permission

ElastoType requests Accessibility access to read your selected text and write results back in place. We use it only to pass your selected text to the AI provider and write the result back — see “What we store” for how that text is handled.

Data retention

Stored content and request metadata are kept for up to 1 year, then deleted automatically. Anything you delete is removed right away. You can delete your stored content anytime in Settings → Your Data, or by emailing support@elastotype.app.

Changes

If we update this policy in a material way, we'll note it in the changelog and update the date at the top of this page.
